To the south of Bansko is situated the National Park 'Pirin', included in the list of the national parks and reserves of the UN, as well as in the list of the cultural and natural landmarks of UNESCO. The park is rich in lakes, waterfalls, caves, century old trees and historic places. In the vicinity of Chalin valog, Todorova ornitsa, Demyanishka polyana, Shiligarnika, as well as in the chalets of Vihren, Demyanitsa, Bunderitsa, Gotse Delchev, Bezbog could be found wonderful conditions for summer and winter tourism and holiday vocations with ski-lift and ski-trails. From the chalet of Bezbog the path goes in southern direction and after 30 min reaches the Bezbog ridge, and from there starts a slow and continuous descent to the lakes of Banski gyolove and from there after 10 ÷ 15 min of climbing could be reached the lake of Popovo. The lake of Popovo is the greatest lake in the Pirin Mountain

 

Route ‘the Five Lakes’.

 

 Muratovo lake, Robno lake, Frogs’ lake, the Long lake and the Eye. This route is easy and accessible to a wide range of tourists and its duration is for about 4 hours, and the ascent in altitude is about 350 ÷ 400 m. The starting point of the route is the chalet of Vihren (altitude of 1950 m).
